He was instrumental in the growth and success of the Clippers, serving as President and Chairman for more than 32 years. His baseball experience led to the Major Leagues, and he became a Vice President with the New York Yankees. Dick served Ohio State as a member of the President's Club, Ohio State Committeeman, and President of the Buckeye Boosters. Under Dick's leadership, the Buckeye Boosters raised several million dollars for the University. His support was recognized with an honorary Varsity "O". He was a member of many clubs and organizations, including past President of The Athletic Club and The Touchdown Club of Columbus. He was a member of the Agonis Club, awarded the Flowers for the Living, the Scottish Rite and Shrine Club, Community Lodge 684 F&M, the S&B Society, and the Gyro Club.
