Richard Sammons Jr. age 73, unexpectedly passed away on May 12, 2018 at Parkside Assisted Living. Retired from U.S. Bank. Member of Southeast Lions Club, where he currently served as President. He was a member of South Gate Potter Lodge #782, the Sertoma Club, A.A.S.C.,C.R.C. and numerous other organizations. Richard was inducted into the Ohio High School Basketball Hall of Fame as well as the Ohio Softball Hall of Fame. He was a recipient of The Jeffersonian Award and also was a Kentucky Colonial. Preceded in death by his wife Carol Sue Sammons, parents Richard Sr. and Esther Sammons. Survived by son, Mike (Amanda) Sammons; and daughter, Pam (Michael) Caudill; grandchildren, Jacob and Justin Sammons and Sarah and Isaac Kinser; great grandsons, Layne Nicklis and Max Kinser; brother, Mike (Debra) Sammons; God daughter, Paula Higgins; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Friends received Wednesday 2-5 and 7-9pm at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 South High Street. Masonic Service 7:30pm. Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 10am, a Southeast Lions Club. Service will be held prior to the funeral service on Thursday. Pastor Edward Engelbrecht, Officiating.
