Truett Mr. Robert Lee Truett Sr., 65, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at his home in Columbus, Ohio. Robert was born on February 23, 1948 to Robert and Mandy Lee Nelms Truett. Robert was a distinguished and decorated member of the Armed Services and having served in the Vietnam War. His service was recognized through the awarding of many accolades and honors, including two Purple Hearts. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Teresa Truett and Cecilia Truett. He is survived by his very special friend, Margarie Winslow; children, Robin Terry of Columbus, OH, Sonya Truett Edgerton (Nigel) of Raleigh NC, Natasha Truett Jessup of Butner, NC, Bobbie Truett Walton of Butner, NC, Kelva Truett Stokes (Steven) of Louisburg, NC, and Robert L. Truett Jr. of Columbus, OH; brother, John Nelms (Shirley) of Columbus, OH; aunt and uncle, Cecil and Ethel Mitchell of Columbus, OH; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of C.D. WHITE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1217 Mt. Vernon Ave. A celebration service will be held immediately following the viewing at 3 p.m. Interment will occur on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Glen Rest Memorial Estates, 8029 East Main Street in Reynoldsburg, OH.
