Ward Stanley C. Ward, age 72, of Lucasville and formerly Columbus, died Tuesday morning, January 14, 2014 at Heartland of Centerburg surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was born on April 12, 1941 in Wakeman, Ohio to the late Clarence and Dollie (Berner) Ward. He was a retired truck driver for Roadway Express with 30 years of service retiring in 1999 and a US Air Force Veteran. Stanley enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling the open road, football, NASCAR and watching his grandchildren race and show horses. He is survived by his wife, Mayme Ward; daughter, Cherri (Brian) Jones of Fredericktown; son, Wayne (Loretta) Ward of New Lexington; grandchildren, William Sells, Ciara Ward, Sarah Jones, Wade Ward, Shawn Jones, Shane Jones; brothers, Louis, Clarence; sisters, Loretta, Betty Jo, Dollie Marie, Eleanor, Patricia, Marjorie, Helen; step-sons, Roger Howard of Columbus, Matthew Howard of Lucasville. Preceded by brother John, sister Frances. Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the DeVORE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury, where service will be held Friday 12Noon with Celebrant Don Lockwood officiating.
