I am so so sorry for your loss. I am shocked for we just found out about Steve's passing. We have known him & have been neighbors for over 26 years. My heart goes out to your family, Lila, Vicki.I am at a loss for words. My heart breaks for your family. We had some good times together & enjoyed spending time with Steve talking. I knew Uncle Steve, Chris and the boys while I was growing up with the Cunninghams. Steve was a great guy and always had a smile on his face when I knew him. I'm so sorry for everyone's loss.

I worked with Steve at Discover Financial Services in Inbound Merchant Sales. I am shocked and deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He was an incredible person, full of life and passion. His enthuiasm was inspiring. Please accept my condolences for your loss.

Steve is my amazing son-in-law ...never met a more extremely caring and detailed person ...always wanting to help in any way shape or form ...this man was off the charts on energy levels. Going to greatly miss him and he will always be part of my wonderful family memories.

We met Steve in the 90's. Steve was gracious to us at a time of need and, for that, we will always be grateful. We will remember a guy with a quick smile and a real love of the outdoors. My heart is very heavy today. The world has lost a wonderful person. I worked with Steve at Discover Card for many years. Everytime I saw him he always had a smile & a kind word or something funny to say. He always seemed to remember the things that were going on in your life & would ask from time to time to see how things were. He was a true friend.

My deepest sympathy to Steve's family and friends. I did not work with Steve everyday, but when I needed his help , he was kind and professional. The one thing I could tell about him without knowing him as well as others, was how much his family meant to him and this was just by seeing his pod at work, full of his family pictures and the art work from his sons. Dear Smith Family, I had the privledge to share Steve's life with you thru and with my brother Dusty. I could always count on a smile and a hug, or a headlock from Steve everytime i'd see him. To the Smith family. My heart is so heavy right now. I'm still in shock and and extremely sadden by the loss of my very very good friend. Steve and I worked together at the BWC from 2006 to 2008 and the moment we met became close friends. He was a good man and a TRUE friend. I called him (slackdog) from our days of working out in the gym together. He left a lasting impression on whomever he came in contact with. I will be continually praying for the family as you work through the trying days ahead.

Remembering Steve's outgoing friendliness, the way he made everyone feel like YOU are special to HIM, the way he playfully and kindly made fun of my Cleveland accent every time I saw him, the way he could be in a group and leave no one out of his special attention. To the Smith Family, I am deeply saddened to learn of Steve's passing. He was a good friend from our earliest days at Pinecrest all the way through our high school years. He was a big brother when I needed one and helped motivate me running Cross Country together. Even twenty seven years later, I still think of him as a great friend. Not only did I work with Steve at Discover, but I was fortunate to also work in the same building as he did when we moved on from Discover. He was one of the few people that I've have the privilege of knowing that was always, genuinely positive and so sincere, especially when talking about his family. I worked with Steve for many years at Discover. He had such a huge enthusiam for life. His excitement was contagious! He gave 110% to everything he did. My heart hurts, as I have lost a friend. For the past 4 years, Steve would come into to work everyday passing my desk with a smile that was always lit me up even when I didn't feel like being lit up. He encouraged me to do a lot of things and he always gave me great advice, from buying a jeep to leading my girl scout troop. When I was going through tough times, he never let me down.
