Suzanne Price Smith Obituary
Smith, Suzanne Price
1944 - 2018
Suzanne Price Smith, age 74, after a life well-lived and a selfless devotion to her family, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at her home in Upper Arlington, OH, on January 25, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. She lived her life believing, "Let go and let God." Suzanne was born in Columbus, OH on January 22, 1944 to Betty and George Price, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Upper Arlington High School and attended The Ohio State University. She married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Barr Smith. She was a life-long resident of Upper Arlington, except for the time spent in Lakehurst, NJ, Key West, Florida, and Norfolk, VA, while Dan served in the military. Suzanne devoted her life to children, her own, and others as a teacher for more than 25 years at Burbank Early Childhood School. Suzanne loved boat rides on Buckeye Lake and even more the annual family vacations at Voneda Place on Elk Lake in Northern Michigan. A family tradition she started 45 years ago was a yearly, joyous Fourth of July picnic at her home for family, friends and neighbors. She was selfless, and devoted her life to the care and comfort of others. Suzanne is survived by her best friend and husband of 54 years, Dan of Upper Arlington; daughter, Heather Smith, (Fred Zietz) and granddaughter, Hayden of Denver, CO; son, Matthew Smith of Upper Arlington; daughter, Melissa (James) Richardson and granddaughters, Morgan and Avery; and son, Shawn Smith (Taleen Petrosian) and grandson, Luca of Alameda, CA. She is also survived by siblings, Glenda Boggs, Karen (George) Clellan, Jim (Velvet) Price; and many caring and supportive nieces, nephews and cousins. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 4-7pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Interment will be held at the Pataskala Cemetery, Pataskala, OH 43062 at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends may consider donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
