Thomas E. "Moon" Mullin, of Columbus, OH, age 91, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Friday, December 15. He is survived by Mary, his loving wife of 65 years. Born in Columbus, OH in 1926, he graduated from high school at St. Thomas Aquinas. He served in the Army during WWII. He attended The Ohio State University and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He retired from Ohio Bell/Ameritech after 41 years. He was an active member of Charity Newsies. He belonged to the Mercator Club and was awarded their Distinguished Service Award. He was a past president of the Columbus Sales Executive Club. He received the Founder's Award from the Christ Child Society of Columbus. He was an active parishioner of St. Andrew's Parish. He was involved with the March of Dimes. He was a member of the Central Ohio Hot Jazz Society. His involvement in the community led to him being recognized as a semi finalist for the Jefferson Award. Moon and Mary enjoyed many years with their family at their cabin on Burt Lake in Cheboygan, MI. He was very involved with the Burt Lake Preservation Association and the Chamber of Commerce in Indian River, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Helen Mullin, his sisters MaryAnn Hirschberg of East Orleans, MA, Kathleen Boles of Brookfield, WI and Sarah Wagner of Springfield, OH. In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by his brother, John Mullin of Columbus, Oh; sister, Colleen Buscemi of Springfield, OH; three daughters, Jane (John) Schmidt of Dublin, OH, Deborah (Mike) Quinn of Dublin, OH, and Theresa "Tracy" Mullin of Columbus, OH. He leaves 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. His family sends special thanks to Always Neighbors and Ohio Health Hospice. Family will receive friends from 4-7 P.M. Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations to Charity Newsies would be appreciated.
