Thomas Regis O'Brien Obituary
O'Brien Thomas Regis O'Brien, age 68, died on Wednesday, September 18, at his residence, after a long and courageous battle of illness. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated from St. Mary of the Mount High School. Thomas was preceded in death by his son Robert S. O'Brien, parents William and Frances (Whalen) O'Brien, and brother William F. O'Brien. Tom is survived by his wife, Peggy (Skillen) of 48 years; four children, Ruth A. O'Brien, Sharon L. Maynard, Paul T. (Yvonne) O'Brien and William R. (Rebecca) O'Brien; longtime family friend Randolph Maynard, Jr. and nine grandchildren. Thomas is also survived by five siblings, Judith (Andy) Colucci; Mary Kay Barry; Colleen McNicholas; Michael S. O'Brien, and Margaret J. O'Brien. A host of nieces and nephews. He retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio after 33 years of loyal service. Tom was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Special thanks to Dr. Ann Aring and staff, Riverside Family Practice and Father Larussa and Sister Marie, St. Matthias Catholic Church. Donations may be made in his memory to St. Matthias Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, 2013 from 9-11 a.m. and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthias Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio.
