Timothy Patrick McCarthy Obituary
McCarthy Timothy Patrick McCarthy, 66, of Columbus, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, March 26, 2013. He was born December 9, 1946 in Dearborn, Michigan to the late Gordon and Helen McCarthy. Tim was a 1964 graduate of Columbus Aquinas H.S. He attended The Ohio State University and received his Bachelors degree from Franklin University. Tim served in the U.S. Navy, proudly serving his last year with brother, Joe. He was self-employed with the family business, AAA Rental and Sales, retiring in 2006. He often spoke of how he loved working with his family. Tim loved experiencing the finer things in life, traveling, and socializing. He was a gracious host and loved adding to his circle of friends. Tim was an outdoorsman; enjoying fishing and planting gardens and trees. He was very proud of the forest he created on his property in London, Ohio. He was an extreme OSU fan, a collector, and a great shopper. He had the grace and strength to persevere through his quadriplegia and was an inspiration to many people. Tim will be remembered for being caring, loyal, generous, and thoughtful. Tim will be missed by his loving wife of 21 years, Jan; brothers, Joe (Carol) McCarthy and Mike (Lori Murphy) McCarthy; sister, Patricia Piltch; nieces and nephews, Leslie Gabrio, Ashley McCarthy, Michael McCarthy, Ryan Ladd, Courtney Brock, Christopher Luikart, Nicholas Luikart, Sarah Fitch, Heidi Love, Susan LeBlanc, and Karen Porter; many great nieces and nephews, loving sisters and brothers-in-law; and Godsons, Brian Grote and Greg Valentino. Family will receive friends Monday, April 1, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (Just south of I-270), where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
