Although I did not know Ray we fought in the same place at the same time. I was in Golf Co. 2/1 2 nd platoon. 3/66- 11/ 67 as a 0311 squad leader..

My most sincere condolences to Ray's family......and to you Ray "Semper Fi" brother. You are truly now with all your brothers of the "Globe & Anchor". I also served with 2/1 in 1966 - 1967. I was in Golf Company so I'm sure we passed each other more than once. Rest in peace Marine, you served your Corps and your Country well!

I did not know Marine Wellman, I had just read about him on our 2/1 Marine web. But Ray is my brother in Christ first, and a Marine brother as well.

So sorry to hear of Rays passing. Ray was my trainer in 1979 at the post office. He gave me an appreciation for the word "mullet head". Ray was one of the good guys at the post office. I'm glad I got to visit with him a couple weeks ago. I am so sorry for your loss. it's good to know I will see him again. Goodbye for now friend....
