Vincent J. Bruzzese Obituary
Bruzzese Vincent J. Bruzzese. With great sadness we announce the passing of Vincent J. Bruzzese, age 69, who died peacefully at home on the 4th of July, after a four year battle with a degenerative brain disease. Vince was a graduate of Linden McKinley High School, class of 66. He was drafted into the army and served with the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with "V" device for his bravery as a machine gunner in helping rescue numerous casualties. Vince impacted many lives while working as a Columbus Firefighter and Paramedic for 25 years until his retirement in 1996. He then worked at Honda of America, retiring after 10 years. Vince was a devoted husband to wife Stefanie for 49 years, and a very proud father to daughter Carrie. Vince enjoyed playing cards, taking his dogs for long walks, and cruising on his pontoon boat at Indian Lake while listening to 70s rock music. Preceded in death by parents Vincent and Emma, and mother-in-law Dotti Casa. Survived by wife, Stefanie; and daughter, Carrie Bruzzese (Robert Wood); sisters, Emma (Martin) Stires, Rita (Mike) Rea, and Jeanette Gilbert; sisters-in-law, Shelley (Lonnie) Trott, and Jan (Gary) Woodward; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. The family is appreciative and thankful for the quality of care given by hospice and nurse Amy. We also thank our family and friends who visited and gave loving support to Vince during the progression of his disease.
