Hornung Virginia K. "Jackie" Hornung, age 88, passed away January 3 at Riverside Methodist Hospital as a result of a stroke. She loved the Lord, and her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an active member of the Cypress Wesleyan Church, she loved to sing along with the choir as they practiced and participated in senior's Bible study. Virginia was loved by all that knew her, and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband Orlando Hornung; her father and mother Cecil Sr and Kitty Sturgeon; her two brothers Cecil Jr, Wally; and her sister Dorothy. She is survived by her children, Nancy Derenburger, Stephen (Jill) Hornung, Daniel (Windy) Hornung, Eric (Sue) Gallagher-Hornung, and Janet (Todd) Zahler; grandchildren, Cheri Meyers, Lauren, Brittany, and Eva Hornung, Dessa Shepherd, and Thomas Zahler; and great grandchildren, Meaghan and Brandon. A memorial service celebrating her life will be at the Cypress Wesleyan Church, 377 Alton-Darby Creek Rd., Galloway, OH, Saturday, January 11th. Use the main entrance at the southeast corner of the church. Families and friends will be received starting at 12:30 p.m., with the memorial service starting immediately at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Dale George will be performing the service.
