MYERS Dr. William C. Doc Myers D.D.S., June 27, 1908 - October 25, 2009. A funeral service for Dr. William C. Doc Myers D.D.S., 101, of Dublin, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2009 at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastors Jim Young and Jeff Gill officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. An additional memorial service will be held at Friendship Village of Dublin Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 7 p.m. with Senior Pastor Cindy Adcock officiating. Dr. Myers, a dentist, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009, at the Friendship Village of Dublin. He was born June 27, 1908, in Genoa, Ohio, to the late Charles and Myrtle (Wilson) Myers. After graduating Worthington High School he completed the study of Dentistry at The Ohio State University. While attending O.S.U in 1927 he was a member of the Floating Ohio Marching Band where he played trombone, and continued as a buckeye fan ever since. In 1932 he started his dental practice and retired in 1986. He devoted 54 years of his life to his dental practice and was a member of the Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity. In 1976 he was a missionary dentist in the town of Pinalejo, Honduras. Bill was proud of his knowledge and love of wild birds. During his lifetime he and his wife, Janice, traveled the world over. Bill and Janice were dedicated members of the Central Christian Church in Newark where they served as Sunday School Teachers, held many official positions, served on several committees and were honored as elder emeriti. Once they moved to Friendship Village in Dublin he enjoyed many activities there including photography, woodworking, gardening and performing in drama productions. In 1995 he became an active member of the North West Christian Church in Columbus. He is a lifetime member of Newark Kiwanis, with over 60 years of service, where he served as President and went on to also serve as Ohio Lieutenant Governor of Kiwanis. He is survived by his daughters, Marilyn (Bill) Winters of Dublin, Karen M. Codlin of Powell and Cheryl (Fred) Lentz of Newark; grandchildren, Matt, Mark, Laura, Kevin, Kyle, Libby and Eliot; eleven great-grandchildren; niece, Janet Goudie; sister-in-law, Peg Mitchell; nephew, Doug Mitchell and niece, Ann Carroll. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Janice M. (Mitchell) Myers, whom he married on February 4, 1934. Janice passed away October 16, 2000. His brothers Loran and Walter Myers and his sister Mary Uncapher also preceded him in death. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the BRUCKER & KISHLER FUNERAL HOME, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark.
