William "Bill" Herschel Carroll, born at home December 31, 1922, passed away peacefully Monday, October 2, 2017, of natural causes from a life well lived. William is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Dolores, his nine children, Robert (Debbie), William (Doris), Barbara Carroll Raines (Brian), Mary Humphrey (Robert *deceased), Deborah Stemen (David), Catharine Lees (Timothy), Margaret Frumkin (Adam), Dianne Carroll, and Frederick (Barbara); twenty-two grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Born in Pomp, Kentucky to Thomas Fulton and Edna (Creech) Carroll, Bill had twelve brothers and sisters and thirteen half-brothers and sisters. Bill was a master mathematician, craftsman, gardener, and retired after forty-four years of service from Rockwell International. A member of Eastwood SDA Church, Bill's memory will be treasured for his gentleness of spirit, his integrity and strength of character, his love of God and devotion to family, and his ever generous and giving heart. We will miss his smile, the twinkle in his eyes, his unique Welsh sense of humor, and his world famous home grown tomatoes. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Northeast Chapel at 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio where family will welcome friends on Thursday, October 5, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 6, at Eastwood Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 6400 S.
