Megla William J. Megla, age 88, of Columbus, OH, passed away May 9, 2014. He served as a corporal in the United States Army during World War II in the 1st BN, 47th Regiment, 9th Division, was a prisoner of war in Germany for 9 months and was awarded the Purple Heart. He married Marjory A. Hulse on Aug. 18, 1945 in Miami, FL and together they raised five children. Bill started a successful business in Columbus in 1980, The Perma View Andersen Window dealership which is now run by his sons. He loved outdoor activities, especially fishing, golf, gardening and traveling. Bill enjoyed people, good friends and loved shopping for bargains. Bill liked to reconnect with fellow World War II veterans and sharing memories. He is survived by his loving wife, Marjory; sons William, Charles, Robert and Phil; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Shirley Detmer. Graveside service with military honors will be held Monday May 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, OH.
