William Randle Obituary

RANDLE William M. Randle, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died suddenly on Sunday, January 24, 2010. Born in Florida in 1939, Bill's early career was in the Navy, where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. The love of justice, order and truth he developed in the military was a hallmark of his character throughout his life. Colleagues in the banking industry best knew Bill for his pioneering work in the development of electronic banking. His friends knew him for his quiet sense of humor, his warmth, his wonderful rose bushes, and his pride in the accomplishments of his children. His parents, Frances Goff Randle and William Yancy Randle, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Betsy Randle; four sons, Bill Jr. (Vicki), Andrew (Laura), Stuart, and Wade; five granddaughters, Morgan, Danielle, Kylie, Lauren, and Drew; brother, John Randle (Maria) of Jacksonville, Florida; niece, Tori Randle Farney; and nephew, John Paul Randle. Bill graduated from the University of Florida, and received his MBA from Loyola University. He was the inventor of numerous technologies for which he holds many patents. Bill was a retired Executive Vice President of Huntington Bancshares, Columbus, Ohio, and Founder and CEO of a software and technology company that catered to the banking, insurance, and telecommunication industry. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Bexley United Methodist Church, 2657 E. Broad St. Reverend Frank Luchsinger officiating. To the Randle family:

It was with deep regrets that I read of Bill's passing.

I worked for Bill at Atlantic Bank here in Jacksonville from 1978-1986. During my time with Bill, the banking industry was just on the cutting edge of eletronic banking and he lead the charge to get these new and innovative concepts adopted by old line bankers.

I was fortunate to have worked with him during my early banking career and I always held Bill in high esteem. Our prayers are with you during these difficult times.

I was suprised and saddened when Johnny called to tell me that Billy had passed away. I have very fond childhood memories and wish that we had gotten to know each other in our adult lives.
Our thoughts and prayers are extended to you and his sons. Keep his memory in your hearts. Jim, Pierce, Andy and I send our deepest condolences.

To Betsy, Stuart and Wade,
I am so sorry I could not attend Bill's "Celebration of Life" but I am teaching graduate classes at NYU in New York City and could not change me schedule. While I can not imagine the full extent Bill's loss will have on each of your live's, I can state with the greatest sincerity that the time I spent with him over the years has had an incredible impact on me as a person and how I relate to others. Bill was the consummate creative thinker and business fighter. It was my experience that all those who came in contact with him continued their lives with a new sense of excitement about the chance to change the future.

He taught me to have respect for everyone regardless of their position or personal skills. And in the end he sent me one clear and unwaivering message which I follow each and every day: no matter how busy or involved you may become in other things, always put your wife and children at the top of the list of "things" you really dedicate your life to. He was truly a beautiful soul that will be dearly missed by those of us who had the good fortune of having him become a part of our lives. I hope we can stay in touch in the future and periodically, reminisce about the wonderful impact Bill had on our lives and the world we live in.

To Betsy, Stuart, and Wade,
It's been a few years since we've been at the same family get-togethers, but I want you to know that you are always close in heart. Your sudden loss has saddened all our family. Bill was such a great guy, and I particularly loved him for the way he loved you. Myron, Ross, and I send our deepest condolences, and our thoughts and prayers are with you in the days ahead.
With love,
June

I HAVE KNOWN BILL FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS, AND REALLY GOT TO KNOW HIM IN THE LAST 2 YEARS AS WE FORAYED INTO CHINA FOR OUR AD -VENTURES. WE TALKED EVERYDAY, HAD BREAFAST TOGETHER ALMOST EVERYDAY FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS.I KEEP LISTENING FOR MY CELL PHONE TO RING WITH HIS CALL TO CHAT, YET ONLY SILENCE. WE TALKED ABOUT A LOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS IN ADDITION TO BUSINESS; FAMILY, POLITICS , RELIGION, EDUCATION... BILL WAS A BUDDING INTELLECTUAL. HE LOVED TO LEARN.
BILL WAS A VERY COMPASSIONATE AND GENEROUS PERSON AND NEVER WANTED TO SPEAK ILL OF ANYONE I THINK HE WANTED TO HANG OUT WITH ME 'CAUSE I MADE HIM LAUGH, I HOPE HE KNEW HE DID THE SAME FOR ME. I WILL MISS HIM. AS WELL AS THE MYRIAD OF FRIENDS HE MADE IN CHINA. THEY ALL HAVE SENT THEIR CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY. THEY TOO HAVE HEARD THE SILENCE.

As a banker, Bill was a breath of fresh air--imaginative, open-minded, ready to pursue a good idea wherever he found it. As a friend, Bill was just fun. His sense of humor and his red wines were of the driest, his generosity and kindness of the warmest. He will be sadly missed. Jessica & Michael

I was shocked to hear of Bill's passing. Last year, Bill and I traveled to China and had a great time doing business and just simply hanhing out. Although his back had been ailing him after the long trip, I have fond memories of Bill making a b-line to venture out to see the Great Wall and other sights - we had a great time. Bill was not just a great business man, he was a great guy and was willing to do anything for his family and friends. I will miss him dearly and my deepest sympathies go to his family.

Bill touched the lives of many. His Zest for life and ever glowing optimism was something that you could always count on. He loved his Gators and made no bones about it even here in the heart of Buckeye country. So here is one for Bill that should give him a great smile as he looks down upon us…..GO GATORS! He always joked that I would never say that.

To Betsy and the family: Please accept my deepest sympathy and keep in mind that he lived life to the fullest and loved you all dearly. Having traveled with him many times you were always on his mind. He will be missed by many but he will also live on through the many he touched.

My Deepest Sympathy to the family of Bill. I had the pleasure to work with Bill for many years and in many ventures. Bill was a person who always saw the glass as half full rather than half empty. I am sure that Bill will be missed by many family and friend

Bill will remain a huge part of the lives he touched. His enthusiasm and determination inspired many ventures. Joe and I already feel the loss of his daily calls and the friendship these two men developed so unexpectedly.
