McCulley William S. "Bill" McCulley, 69, Columbus, passed away on Sunday, June 1, at his Columbus residence. Bill was born in Cambridge, Ohio on September 13, 1944, a son of the late Dr. Robert L. McCulley and Frances M. Eggert McCulley. Bill was a graduate of Newcomerstown High School, class of 1962. He then received his bachelor's degree from Olivet Nazarene University, Illinois. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Columbus, where he served as an usher and a lay minister. Bill served as a consultant for leadership training in the field of non-profit empowerment. He was also the President and Founder of the Good Neighbors of Central Ohio organization whose mission is to assist the homeless residents of the Columbus area. This organization provides the annual Good Neighbors' Picnic for the homeless every year at Goodale Park. Bill had a vast collection of movie DVD's which he enjoyed watching and sharing with his friends. His favorite TV show was "Dancing with the Stars". He was also a regular customer at two restaurants on the south side of Columbus, Cup of Jo and Dan's Drive Inn. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister Nancy McCulley, and a nephew Kipp Wise. Bill is survived by a daughter and two nephews and their wives, Rich T. and Terre Wise, West Lafayette and Jeff L. and Brenda Wise, Newcomerstown. Bill also leaves several great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life of giving to others is to be scheduled during the month of July at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, South James Road. That service will be announced at that time by the OURANT FUNERAL HOME. The family is requesting that memorials be made in Bill's name to the Good Neighbors' Picnic, Goodale Park.
