Ann E. (Price) Gillard Obituary
Gillard Ann E. (Price) Gillard (Grammy), 82, passed away Sunday February 9, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Florence Price, brother William Price, sister Mary Bauman and son Michael Gillard. She is survived by husband, James R. Gillard; children, Lisa (Joe) Heasley, Lori (Craig) Smith, Julia Gillard; grandchildren, David and Sarah Heasley, Evan and Becky Gillard, Annie Turner, Nathaniel and Jennifer Smith; great grandchildren, Caden, William, and Chloe who were all her pride and joy. She is also survived by special friends, Linda O'Brien, Bob Croye, and all of her friends in her choruses. Ann was born and raised in Radnor Ohio where she attended Radnor School. She was active in the Performing Arts, was drum majorette in grades 10, 11, and 12, and was chosen to attend "girls' state" as a senior. She met and married the love of her life in 1953. After a brief time in San Diego, they returned to Radnor and had three children. After moving to Columbus in 1961 she began teaching Piano, organ and voice. She and her husband were founding members of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Through the years she began painting and upon Jims retirement sold her crafts at many shows. She was invited to make an ornament to hang on a Christmas tree at the White House. Together they sang in Dan O'Brien's "Satellites USA" and she sang and directed in the Gillie Center Chorus and the Central Ohio Welsh Society Chorus. She was chosen to conduct the 60th Annual "Gymanfa Ganu" (Welsh festival of sacred hymns). Ann loved life and passed that on to all who entered her life. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 13 from 4-7 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where a funeral service will take place Friday, February 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. Reverend Mr. Craig Smith officiating. Private interment at Radnor Cemetery at a later date. Ann's family would like to thank Shirley from Interim Healthcare of Columbus and the entire team at Gentiva Hospice.
