Joann G. Bodenbender Obituary
Bodenbender Joann G. Bodenbender passed away peacefully on February 14, 2014. Born June 23, 1937 in Defiance, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Jo is survived by her sister Mary Ellen Johnson; nephew Kurt Johnson; and best friend, Madeline Miller; along with many other special friends. A polio survivor, Jo challenged herself to lead a full and active live. She played tennis and enjoyed her friends at the YMCA pool exercise class. She came to Columbus at the age of 18, began working at Children's Hospital Cytogenetic Lab, where she was a dedicated employee for 40 years. A loyal Ohio State Buckeye fan, Jo never missed watching a game to cheer her team to victory. But most of all she loved the company of her cats. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Monday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road in Gahanna. Please come in your scarlet and gray. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at St. Matthew The Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Rd., in Gahanna. Celebrant, Father Ryan Schmit.
