Phillips Alvin "Al" Phillips, 65, of Grove City, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on February 15, 2014. Al was born to the late Lurana and Dockie Phillips on March 22, 1948. Al recently retired from Nationwide Insurance after 42 years of service. He was a long standing member and Deacon of Finance at Southwestern Church of Christ in Grove City. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 44 plus years, Lee Phillips; daughter, Angela (Gary) Morgan of Canal Winchester; and grandson Tristan Morgan; three brothers, Ron (Carole) Phillips, of Grove City, Bobby (Barbara) Phillips of Galloway, and Billy Phillips of Sandy Hook, KY; many loving nieces, nephews, coworkers, friends, and business associates in Austin, Texas. Al's favorite hobby was riding his motorcycle with his many friends and buddies. Al was a quiet, kind and compassionate person and loved by all. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at THE SPENCE-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 2697 Columbus St., Grove City. Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday 11 a.m., officiated by Terry McGiffin, Minister, Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Grove City.
