Obituary Condolences

Riegel Paula N. Riegel, 59, of Westerville, Ohio, died in her home on Saturday, February 15, 2014. She was born at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio on March 9, 1954. She grew up in Westerville, and was an active member of the Westerville First Presbyterian Church after confirmation as a teen. While in school she helped out in her father's jewelry store, Nealer Jewlers in Uptown Westerville when needed. She also worked as a babysitter for several families around Westerville and within the church. She graduated from Westerville High School in 1972. After graduation she attended Bowling Green University for a short time to study to become a deaf education teacher and work with young children. She married her high school sweetheart, Dan Riegel on October 20, 1973 and became the homemaker/stay at home mom for her family. Dan and Paula had three daughters, Danielle, Amanda, and Kelly. Paula is preceded in death and will be welcomed home by her father Paul LaVerne Nealer, her mother Janet B. Nealer, all sets of grandparents, several aunts and uncles, and her brother-in-law Charlie Bice. She will also be welcomed by, and will finally be able to hold her youngest daughter Kelly, who was stillborn in July of 1978 but remembered, loved and prayed for/to every single day for the rest of Paula's life. She is survived by her daughter, Danielle Gerber (husband, Clay); daughter, Amanda Thomas (husband, Brandon); grandchildren (in order of appearance), Isaac Schlabach (17), Bella Riegel-Hall (13), Jake Schlabach (9), James Thomas (6) and Luke Gerber (3); sisters, Debby Nealer-Bice, Dr. Jan Nealer and niece Dr. Rachael Nealer. There will be a Memorial Service held at the Westerville First Presbyterian Church at 41 W. College Ave., Westerville, OH 43081. It will be led by Reverend Mark Gauen on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 4 p.m. There will be a reception following the service thanks to certain members of the church in the basement fellowship room of the First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by HILL FUNERAL HOME, Westerville.
