Mitchell Tittica "Tica" Roberts Mitchell. A memorial service celebrating the life of Tittica "Tica" Roberts Mitchell, age 74, of Columbus, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 21, at the Newark Chapel of HENDERSON-Van ATTA-STICKLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, with Pastor Jim Young officiating. Inurnment will take place immediately after the service in Newark Memorial Gardens. There will also be a celebration of life in the Columbus/German Village Area with arrangements forthcoming. Mrs. Mitchell passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born December 10, 1939 to the late Al and Joyce K. (Keckley) Roberts. She graduated Newark High School in 1957 and later earned her Bachelors Degree in Political Science in 1960 from The Ohio State University. She resided in New York City from 1960-1980's where she became Vice-President of Herbert Barrett Management and began working with Conductor, Erich Kunzel. She married William "Bill" A. Mitchell in 1979 and upon his retirement they moved back to Columbus, making German Village their home where she began her own artist management firm, known as TRM Management, Inc. Maestro Kunzel joined her in her new endeavor and eventually became the full focus of her work until his untimely death in 2009 after which she retired from music management and became active in many areas of German Village and Columbus life. She was extensively involved with the Columbus Symphony and had previously served as a trustee. She was also active in the Columbus Museum of Art Women's Board, the German Village Society, the Beaux Arts and the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Women's Board as well as The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Those who knew her were amazed how she could deal with world powers in the music field all while staying grounded by her roots. She is survived by her aunt, Joan (Keckley) Spillman of Newark; stepson, Mark (Susan) Mitchell of Hendersonville, Tennessee; stepdaughter, Carol (Michael) Cuoco of Clinton, Connecticut; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; cousins, Walter Douglas (Jean) Harmon of Apollo Beach, Florida, Sandy (Tim) Mercer of Newark, Sallie (Rich) McHugh of Arlington, Virginia, Susan (John) Strandquest of Montverde, Florida, Donald (Roxie) Roberts of Hillsboro, Ohio, Kathy J. (Sam) Hatfield of Las Vegas, Nevada and Dorothy Lee Boike of Beaver Creek, Ohio; and her faithful siamese cat, Sassie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William A. Mitchell. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.
