Davis Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Davis went to his Heavenly home on February 23, 2014 in Kernersville, North Carolina. Sunrise: October 24, 1944 Chesterhill, Ohio. Sunset: February 23, 2014 Kernersville, NC. A Columbus native, Kenny graduated from Eastmoor High School in 1962. His career as a precision tool and die maker eventually relocated Kenny to Kernersville where he retired. A humorous, hard working man Kenny enjoyed many activities including drag racing and baseball for many years. An avid fisherman, he was also an excellent bowler, a Buckeye and Reds fan, loved the outdoors, racing, his family and pets. Kenny is the son of the late Charles Davis and is survived by his mother, Wilda Davis; a son, Seth Davis of Charlotte, North Carolina; daughter, Krissi (Michael) Cregger of Sandy Ridge, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Kaydee and Isaac Cregger; his best friend and woman he loved, Bonita "Bunny" Wray of Kernersville, North Carolina; a sister, Romona (Barry) Wilson of Columbus; brothers, Rex (Krista Coker) Davis of Columbus, Randy (Rusty) Davis of Columbus; his beloved dogs, Buck and Sophie; several nieces and nephews and countless friends. Kenny loved to share his racing memories and was one of the first to take a race car down the track at the Grand Opening of National Trail Raceway just outside Columbus in Kirkersville, Ohio. He was the ultimate jack of all trades and always ready to lend a hand or give brotherly advice. Visitation will be Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the WOODYARD EAST CHAPEL, 2300 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio, where the funeral service will be Friday 1 p.m. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
