Wechter Shirley Wechter, age 88, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014. Preceded in death by her parents Mitchell and Anna Karr, husband Robert Richman, and husband Morton Wechter. Shirley was born in Brooklyn, and raised her family in Westfield, New Jersey. She commuted into Manhattan to work in the family business until the age of 80. She relocated to Columbus in 2005 to be near her daughter, Shelly. Once here, her new job became Mah Jongg. She is survived by her daughters, Shelly (Alan) Corn and Robin (Larry) Brown; step-son, Roger (Rena) Wechter; brother, Allen (Zina) Karr; sisters, Lillian Statfield and Beatrice Berman; grandchildren, Rachel (Jon) Mester, Leah (Jason) Raher, Jason (Leah) Brown and Carly Brown; great-grandchildren, Anna, Alex and Eli Mester, Abigail and Akiva Raher; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family is grateful for the exceptional care provided by the staff at The Cottage and by Zusman Hospice. Funeral service and interment will be held at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ, on Wednesday, March 5. Immediately following, friends and family are invited to the home of Jason and Leah Brown, 43 Somerset Drive, Suffern, NY 10901.
