Davis Jane Leifeld Davis, beloved wife, mother, sister, teacher and friend to many peacefully returned to Our Lord on March 2, 2014 at Kobacker House. Preceded in death by husband David W. "Bill" Davis, brother John "Jack" Leifeld and sister-in-law Isabelle "Bebelle" Davis. Jane was born to Winifred Gray Leifeld and Clarence Jacob "CJ" Leifeld on October 15, 1924. She was raised in Upper Arlington, Ohio from where she graduated High School in 1942. Jane graduated with a degree in Education from The Ohio State University. Jane was as an elementary teacher in Elkhart, Indiana, Upper Arlington City Schools, and then for the Grandview Heights School District, teaching third and second grade. She touched many young lives as an educator, many who continued to stay in touch with her after retirement. Jane was unique in her compassionate, friendly and loving spirit that was such that all who knew her loved her. She is survived by her sister, Ann Leifeld Decker (John); three children, Dr. Daniel L. Davis (Vickie Murphy), Judith Ann DiPietro (John), and Thomas L. Davis (Christina); grandchildren, Dr. Amy DiPietro, Dr. Joshua Davis (Prutha), John DiPietro (Katie), Joseph DiPietro (Mary Ann), William Davis CPA; and four grandchildren by marriage, Tabitha Kidwell, Dr. Katie D'Ardenne, Rickie Kidwell and Mark Kidwell. She has two great-grandchildren, Giovanni and Oliver DiPietro, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11 a.m., to be followed by a reception at the church. Reverend James M. Long, pastor and family member, will officiate. Arrangements are by DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Community Church Foundation or to Ohio Health Hospice.
