Clifton Hideko Yokono Clifton, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at home, surrounded by her loving family and holding the hand of her beloved husband. She was born July 1, 1924 in Osaka, Japan to Genjiro and Koma Yokono. Hideko met her husband, who was serving in the US Army, in 1954 in Kyoto, Japan. They married in 1957 in Kobe, Japan. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and sister Chizuko Yokono. Hideko is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Robert; loving children, Richard (Shirley), George (Gael) and Sue (Rick) Tossmann; grandchildren, Jessica, Lance, Tiffany, Christopher, Sara, Khrystyne and Casey; sisters, Kyoko Kojima, Reiko Chinen and Taeko Ojika. Family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday at COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg, where her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estates. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the or the Japan Society Earthquake Relief Fund www.japansociety.org/earthquake.
