Ross Velma Louise Hay Ross, age 64 of Grove City, Ohio, passed gently away at her residence surrounded by her loved ones and went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 22, 2014. She was born April 6, 1949, in Elliott County, Kentucky, the 11th child of John Henry and Rilda Mae Kelly Hay. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers James Paul Forest Raymond and Ralph D. Hay, and three sisters Beulah Eileen Hay Agnes Clotene Phillips and Mary Ella Kitchen. She is survived by two daughters, Joan Ross of South Webster, and Teresa (Don) Scott of Grove City; three grandchildren, Michael Hutton, Allie Scott and Dillone Scott all of Grove City; three great-grandchildren, Hayden James, Ely Donald and Jackson Thomas; five sisters also survive, Doris Holbrook of Grayson, Ky., Lois (Raymond) Carter of Portsmouth, Loretta Carter of Jackson, Alma Boyd of Springfield, and Beverly (Jim) Lewis of Sandy Hook, Ky.; beloved sisters-in-law, Linda Hay and Rosa Faye Ross; brothers-in-law, Jim and Larry Joe Ross; and numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Velma was a homemaker and also provided daycare for many children over the years who still look upon her with love and lots of fond memories. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at ERWIN-DODSON-ALLEN FUNERAL HOME in Minford, Ohio with Rev. George Raymond Carter officiating. Burial will be at Salisbury Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers will be, Michael Hutton, Dillone Scott, Don Scott, John Hay, Ralph (Bill) Hay, and Gary Strickland. Burial will follow in Salisbury Cemetery, Stockdale, Ohio.
