Geissel Mariana Amy (McNamee) Geissel, age 49, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends, Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Mayfair Village. Teacher with Columbus Public Schools, Former Coordinator of the Education of Homeless Children and Youth. Member of Christian Community Church where she was active with MOPS, VBS, Joyland and a Life Group Leader; PTO member at Wright Elementary and Windermere Elementary Schools; member of Columbus Ski Club. Graduate of Parkersburg High School in Parkersburg, WV and received a BS Degree from The Ohio State University in 1988. Preceded in death by her grandparents Thomas and Virginia Abdella Roland and Eloise McNamee, father-in-law Karl Geissel, uncles Michael and Steve Abdella. Survived by devoted, loving husband, Steve; adored sons, Daniel, Drew and Joey; mother, Roslyne Abdella; father, James R. (Linda) McNamee; brother, Marty McNamee; sister, AnnMarie McNamee; step-sisters, Jackie (Mike) Wallace and Felice (Sam) Tzabery; mother-in-law, Marie Geissel; brothers-in-law, Warren (Eaphie) Geissel, Bob (Danya) Kimm, Alan (Helene) Geissel and Ken (Ellen) Geissel; loving Godparents, Sandy and Dick Mills; aunts, Ann McNamee and Linda Abdella; uncle, Charlie Abdella. Mariana will also be dearly missed by her cousins, nieces and nephews; many close friends and neighbors past and present especially those from Christian Community Church whose enduring love and support for Mariana and her family during this journey has never waivered.
