Faiella Elmo G. Faiella, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Graduated from Central High School, Class of 1944, following a notable multi-sport career. Served in the U.S. Navy after high school. Elmo played basketball, football, and baseball for Ohio University and Defiance College where he earned his bachelor's degree in 1953. Inducted into the Defiance College Hall of Fame in 2002 in recognition of his numerous sports accomplishments and records that still stand today. He is preceded in death by parents Concezio and Panfilia, sisters and brothers-in-law Geneva (John) Faiella, Rose (Richard) Potenza, Lillian (Ray) Quint and Wilma (Nick) Pollina, brother and sister-in-law Sistino (Sittemia) Faiella, brothers-in-law Danny Hollern and Anthony "Bud" Mangia. Survived by sisters, Mary Hollern and Joanne Mangia; dear friend, Martha Ruoff; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Friday, March 28, 2014, from 4-8 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. Fifth Avenue, Columbus. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3730 Broadway, Grove City. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, Ohio.
