Langhirt Martha Eileen Mills Langhirt, age 69, of Marysville, formerly of Worthington, died Friday, April 4, 2014 at OhioHealth Hospice Kobacker House in Columbus with her family at her side. A marriage and family therapist for many years, she also was a psychology instructor at Columbus State Community College. She received a bachelor's degree in microbiology from The Ohio State University, a master's degree in education from Capital University and her doctorate degree in marriage and family therapy from Florida State University. She was a 1962 graduate of North High School in Columbus where she played on the girls' basketball team and was a member of the swim team. Throughout her years, she coached diving and swimming for Worthington Swim Club, played softball and was an avid tennis player. As an artist, she enjoyed creating her own pottery pieces with friends at the Worthington Recreation Center. A longtime supporter of The Columbus Zoo, she will especially will be remembered for her love of cats. She was born September 17, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Carl A. and Eileen McSherry Mills and was also predeceased by her brother Stephen E. Mills. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Jon) Rausch of Marysville; her son, Paul (Shelley) Langhirt of Worthington; six grandchildren, Mary (Adrian Young) Snyder, David Snyder, Nigel Langhirt, Nathan Rausch, Zachary Rausch and Gunnar Langhirt; a brother, Ronald (Zeta) Mills of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Doris Mills of Millersburg; two nieces, Lori and Julianne; a nephew, Aaron; and many other relatives and good friends. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Marysville Grace Church, 17240 Amrine Wood Road, Marysville, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Clancy Cruise will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kobacker House, OhioHealth Hospice, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43214.
