Mathews Mr. James Otis Mathews, 82. Sunrise January 5, 1932 in Barnesville, Georgia and Sunset April 6, 2014 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a veteran of The U.S. Army, retired from Conrail, attended Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and was a member of The American Legion. James was preceded in death by his parents John and Tisha Mae Banks Mathews, wife Ruby Mathews, brothers Otis J. Barrett, Willie C. Barrett, Walter Mathews, John Robert Mathews and Jack Mathews, sisters Mary Grace Mathews, and Mrs. Mable Barrett Thomas Allen. Left to cherish his memory, daughter, Brenda L. Mathews; sons, John (Donna) Matthews, Marlon A. (Stacey) Mathews, Michael D. (Rose) Mathews, and Christopher L. Mathews; sisters, Edna Mathews and Jackie (William) Lavette; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
