Anthony P. Lyons

Lyons Anthony P. Lyons, age 76, formerly of Columbus, died Wednesday morning, April 9, 2014 in the Bennington Glenn Nursing Center. He was born on August 22, 1937 in Columbus to the late Timothy P. and Mary L. (Miller) Lyons. After High School Anthony served in the U.S Army and then worked in the banking industry. He was a lifelong member at St. James the Less and recently attended the Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. He loved to study Ancient History and enjoyed classical music, especially Italian Opera. He enjoyed visiting parks and museums. The most important things in Anthony's life were his faith and family, especially his grandchildren. Anthony is survived by his two children and seven grandchildren, Timothy and Krislynne Lyons of Columbus and their daughter, Erin and Jennifer and Greg Goers of Cardington and their children, Alexis, Mason, Luke, Sophia, Joshua, and Cecilia. In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by two brothers Michael and Lawrence Lyons. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday April 11, 2014 at the GOMPF FUNERAL HOME, 440 Center St. in Cardington starting with recitation of the rosary beginning at 5 p.m. A Solemn High Requiem Mass will be observed at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 East North Broadway in Columbus. The burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
