Rich Willard Justus Rich, age 93, passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Born February 3, 1921 in Senecaville, Ohio to Dallas and Ada Rich. Graduated from Senecaville High School in 1939. Joined the U.S. Army in 1942, discharged in 1945 -- assigned to 528th Ordnance Company, Heavy Maintenance, 1st Army. Retired from Nationwide Insurance. Willard was an active member of Summit United Methodist Church where he served on numerous committees and sang in the choir. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, photography, and writing poetry. Survived by his wife of 68 years, Verlie L. Rich (Tripp); son, Ken (Carol) Rich; granddaughter, Leslie Rich; grandson, Kevin (Courtney) Rich; great granddaughter, Everlie Rich; sister, Rebecca Oliphant; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by granddaughter Tricia Rich. A memorial service will be held at Summit United Methodist Church, 82 East 16th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, April 19 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Summit United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus or the Salvation Army in his memory. Arrangements by DWAYNE R.
