McGuinness Helen M. L. McGuinness, 97, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Coshocton, passed over on April 7, 2014. She was the loving wife for 43 years of the late James L. McGuinness. Helen was born in Belleville, NJ in 1916, the daughter of Andrew and Hilda Hautala and raised in Spencer, NY. She is a graduate of Spencer High School, Class of 1934, and Central City Business Institute, Syracuse. She worked as secretary to the Medical Director of the Women's Medical Clinic at Cornell University and at Penn Mutual Insurance Company in Philadelphia during WWII. She lived in the Ithaca, NY area until moving to Coshocton, OH in 1955 where she was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and member of the Coshocton Art Guild. Helen lived at the Dublin Retirement Center for 16 years before moving to Wesley Glen in 2013. A gifted artist, quilter and gardener as well as a loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her three children, Richard McGuinness (Trina) of Dublin, OH, Teresa Torrey (Preston) of Avon, CT, and Robert McGuinness(Terry) of Clayton, OH. She also leaves four grandchildren, Patrick McGuinness (Jenna) of Columbus, Erik McGuinness of Columbus, Andrea Maldon (Damien) of Jerrabomberra, Australia and Christopher McGuinness (Stephanie) of Englewood; two great grandchildren, Mireya and Noah McGuinness; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was predeceased by her three brothers Arvid, Arnie and Arvo Hautala, and sister Hilda (Hautala) Saroka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at St. Brigid of Kildare Church in Dublin, OH followed by a private burial in Coshocton County Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to the , Central Ohio Main Office, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
