Berihun Mequanent Berihun, age 52, passed away on April 18, 2014. Mequanent was a prominent and successful Ethiopian Refugee Entrepreneur, civic leader and family man. He was the founder and owner of the Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant, co-founder of the Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services, founding member of Debre Medhanit Medhane Alem Cathedral and other social and sports clubs. Mequanent played a significant role in introducing Ethiopian Culture to Central Ohio and he will be missed by the entire community. Mequanent is survived by his wife, Meaza Aweke; four children, Demeku, Sefanit, Fassil and Zelalem; two grandchildren. His funeral will be held at the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, Debre Medhanit Medhane Alem Cathedral, 610 Neil Avenue, Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial to follow at Union Cemetery, 3349 Olentangy River Road.
