Chapman, Sr. John 'Jack' Chapman Sr., age 61, passed away April 23, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Jack retired from General Motors and owned Jack's Fencing. He was known for his outrageously funny (and sometimes inappropriate) sense of humor, love of animals, and gift for colorful language. To quote A Christmas Story, "He worked in profanity the way other artists might work in oils and clay." He was a huge Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan but his true love was the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Preceded in death by his father Charles R. Chapman Jr., siblings Timmy Terri Sherri Rick and Don, nephews Tyler and Carter and nieces Mary Beth and Caroline. His mother Mary Ann Chapman passed away on April 24, 2014. Survived by his wife of 40 years, Robin (Hynes); children, Jeannie (Brad) Smith and Andy; his pride and joy, granddaughter, Harper; his four-legged companions, Spring and Hank; siblings, Charles R. III (Edie), Steve (Cathy), Cindy (Steve) Kovalcik, Mary Lu (Ron) May and Suzi Elzey (John Percuoco); numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends. Family will welcome friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W Broad St, Columbus, OH 43204.
