Barton Bonnie Jean Barton. A memorial service for Bonnie Jean Barton, age 68, of Newark, will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 9 at the Newark Chapel of HENDERSON-Van ATTA-STICKLE FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, with Pastor Anthony Payton officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark. Bonnie passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her family by her side. She was born July 20, 1945 in Matewan, West Virginia to the late William S. and Mavis E. (Wells) Litton. Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her family. She also like to create beautiful quilts, crocheting and working with crafts. She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Lynn Matthews and Laura Ann Alton; two brothers, William (Sharon) Litton and Gil Litton; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a very special friend, Rex. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Alvin "Elvis" Barton; a son Justin J. North; a brother James Litton and two sisters Beverly Thompson and Priscilla Pollock. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Generations Hospice, 26 North Westmoor Avenue, Newark, OH 43055.
