Elizabeth Ann O'Brien Obituary
O'Brien Elizabeth Ann O'Brien, age 72, of Upper Arlington, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014. She was born to the late William and Kathleen Lamphear on August 23, 1941 in New York City, NY. Liz was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church where she recently established the Liz O'Brien Scholarship Fund at St. Agatha Catholic School. She worked as the school secretary at both St. Agatha and Trinity. She served as past President of Columbus Chapter of The Christ Child Society and as a docent at the Columbus Zoo and volunteer at St. Stephen's Community. Liz enjoyed spending time in Siesta Key with her family. Her smile, beautiful blue eyes, and warm heart will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Larry O'Brien; son, Michael (fiancée, Suzanne) O'Brien; daughters, Kellianne O'Brien and Elizabeth (Darin) Hoover; grandchildren, Tom, Kelsey, Danny O'Brien, Lindsay and Allie Hoover; siblings, Kathy (Gordon) Brown, Bill (Joan) Lamphear, Patti Lamphear; nieces and nephews, Gordon Brown, Dawn Carubba, Billy, Bryan and Megan Lamphear, and Jamie McLimans; and granddogs, Duke and TD. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger RD., COLUMBUS, OH 43221. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1860 Northam Road, Columbus, OH 43221. Father Daniel L. Ochs, Celebrant. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Liz' memory to Christ Child Society of Columbus Inc., Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 340091, Columbus, OH 43234.
