Swoyer Robert Lee Swoyer, age 80, of Pickerington, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Born September 11, 1933 in Pickaway County to the late Ray and Florence (Richardson) Swoyer, he was a graduate of the Ohio State University and served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired woodshop teacher at Eastmoor High School, and was a custom home builder during his summers. After retiring he was employed at Spence Funeral Homes as a funeral director's assistant. He was a member of David Lutheran Church in Canal Winchester, and was formerly a longtime member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Pickerington. Bob is survived by his daughters, LuAnn Oliver, Columbus, and Leah (Dave) Fearing, Canal Winchester; grandchildren, Kyle and Cory Rinehart, Kelli and Hayley Oliver, Kayla and Josh Fearing; brother, Ronald (Virginia) Swoyer, Circleville; former wife, Louise Swoyer; two stepchildren and four step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his first wife Shirley Swoyer in 1988. Friends may visit 6-8 pm Friday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Road N. (St. Rt. #256), Pickerington, and 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Epiphany Lutheran Church, 268 Hill Road N., Pickerington, where funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment after at Harrison Township Cemetery in South Bloomfield.
