Obituary Condolences

Winter William W. Winter, long time resident of Pataskala, died May 23, 2014. Bill was born October 5, 1936 in Lakewood, Ohio. He was the son of the late Mildred and Charles Winter. Bill was preceded in death by his sons Eric (Charlie) and Douglas (Doug). Bill is survived by his loving wife and rock of his life of 56 years, Donna; his son, Scott (Carrie); and two daughters, Dawn (Dwayne) Henkel and Heather (Matt) Carberry; and his four-legged best friend, Bucky. Bill has 10 grandchildren, Erika, Matt (Sandra), Jared (Jessica), Kimber (Phil), Amanda, Blake (Stephanie), Rodney, Nathan, Haley and Mark. He was blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Aiden, Rylee, Taylor, Ariana, Julian, Allison, Warren, and Theo. Bill is also survived by his sister, Barbara Jean Winter Draper of Henderson, NV. Bill served is country proudly in the US Air Force. He was a graduate of North Ridgeville High School. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated from Capital University. He achieved a CPCU Designation while working at Motorists. Bill retired from Motorists Mutual Insurance Company after 35 years of service. He was a former member of Pataskala Village Council and Hosanna Lutheran Church Council in addition he was a "life member" of SERTOMA International. Bill coached Little League Baseball and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians and OSU Buckeyes. Bill was a great husband, father, grandfather, G-Pop and friend to many and will be missed more than words can express, but remembered often with smiles and much love. Friends may call at the KAUBER-SAMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 289 South Main St. in Pataskala on Tuesday, May 27 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Pataskala Cemetery with the US Air Force providing military honors. Friends may contribute to the Hosanna Lutheran Church or the Licking County Animal Shelter in his memory. An online memorial will be at www.kaubersammons.com.
