Lipold William Richard Lipold, 78, Hilliard, Ohio, formerly of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 3:17 p.m. at his residence. He was born on December 25, 1935 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late William W. and Martha A. (Santa) Lipold. Richard was a graduate of Sidney High School, class of 1953 and of The Ohio State University, Class of 1957, where he was a member of their Theta Chi fraternity, serving as secretary. After school, he taught at Worthington High School and later worked as an editor for Charles E. Merrill Books Inc. After that he worked with his father and their company, B.G. Bituminous Co., until he retired in 1986. He is survived by numerous cousins in Ohio, Florida, Michigan and California. He was preceded in death by his two little Maltese dogs, Sissy and Tippy. A Public Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Cedar Point Cemetery. There will be no public calling held prior to the graveside service.
