Gary Lee Hoxmeier Obituary
Hoxmeier Gary Lee Hoxmeier, 68, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014. He was born December 24, 1945 in Dubuque, Iowa to the late Leo and Lucille Hoxmeier. He was a graduate of Wahlert H.S. and a 1968 graduate of Loras College where he earned his bachelor's degree in Social Work. He retired from the Iowa Department of Human Services with 40 years of service where through his work he helped countless Iowa families and children. Gary was an avid reader and always kept up to date on current events. He also enjoyed collecting books, cycling, and antiquing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Roger Hoxmeier. Gary was much loved is survived by partner, Tina Dunphy; daughter, Meagan (Robert) Lineberger; grandson, Andrew Lineberger; brother, Terrence J. (Jane) Hoxmeier; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A memorial service honoring Gary's life will be held at a later date.
