Fauver Ronald Edwin Fauver, Columbus Ohio, age 83, June 6 2014. Born January 16, 1931 to the late Lucille (Smallwood) and Leonard Fauver. Ron is survived by his wife, Nancy Haitz; brothers and sisters, Elinor (John) Floyd, Lowell (Sandy), Roseanne (David) Poland; sister-in-law, Lin (Wesley); his three sons, Ronald (Melissa), Christopher, Gregory; granddaughter, Sarah; and many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother Wesley. Ron served in the United States Marine Corp from 1949 through 1969 retiring after 20 years and attaining the rank of Major. He served in the Korean War and Vietnam War. After retirement from the Marine Corps, Ron attended Ohio State University and graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree. In 1980 he earned a Professional Engineering designation. He was employed as an engineer at Jeffrey Mining Machinery from 1977 through his retirement in 1985 as head of the Engineering Department. Following his second retirement Ron was active in numerous organizations in the Italian Village neighborhood where he lived, receiving numerous awards and recognition for his civic contributions, the most recent of which was being honored in 2010 by the Short North Business Association as an Unsung Hero for his efforts as one of the original un-organizer of the Short North DooDah Parade. Funeral and Tribute to Ron's memory: SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 34 W 2nd Ave, Columbus OH 43201 Wednesday, June 11, 2014 10 a.m.-12 noon. Ron loved live theatre. Ron's wishes were, that in lieu of flowers, people make a donation to Short North Stage. Donations can be made online at or by mailing a check to PO Box 10689, Columbus OH 43201.
