Rippel Carl J. Rippel, age 95, formerly of Westerville, April 26, 2014. Retired from general construction sales. Graduate of Waite High School in Toledo, OH and attended the University of Toledo. Veteran of World War II as a U.S. Navy pilot. Carl and his wife Helen were avid boaters and founding members of the Hoover Sailing Club. Amateur Radio Operator since 1935 (W8NCH). Survived by his sons, James A. Rippel and William M. (Susan) Rippel; grandson, Michael Carone. Preceded in death by his wife Helen and son Jeff. Graveside service will be held at Blendon Central Cemetery, corner of Hempstead and Dempsey Roads, Westerville, Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Fr. David W. Sizemore, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Church of the Sacred Hearts, 4680 U.S. Highway 42, Cardington, OH 43315 in Carl's name.
