Obituary Condolences

Henry John Earl Henry, 59, of Sunbury, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at his home while surrounded by his loved ones. He was born February 16, 1955, in Columbus, to the late W. D. and Sylvia Irene (Abhul) Henry. A 1973 graduate of New Albany High School, John retired from Metal Container Corporation in 2005 after 28 years. After retirement he kept busy working part-time with Royal American Golf Courses and RCS. John could often be found fishing Alum Creek, Hoover Reservoir or Lake Erie. He was a member of the VFW Post 8736, the Fraternal Order of Eagle Aerie 3614 and Gahanna Moose Lodge 2463. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his daughter Carla Henry and his brother Bob. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth (Word); son, Earl Bryan of Sunbury; daughter, Jenny Sides of Gahanna; Paula Jenkins of Nashville, TN; brothers, Tom of New Albany and Dick of Indian Lake; sister, Martha Marcum of Sunbury; three grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the DeVORE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, SR's 3 at 61, Sunbury, where service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Wayne Booth officiating.
