Downey Timothy Charles Downey, CR, passed away June 20, 2014 at St. Ann's Hospital. Tim was born in Dayton Ohio on December 6, 1946 to Robert and Harriet (Saul) Downey. Preceded in death by parents, and his beloved wife Barbara Kerns Downey. Survived by his son, Jeff (Sherry) Downey; grand- daughters, Erica and Avery Downey; great-granddaughter, Harper Ross; sister, Linda (George) Neugebauer; nephews, Matt (Smita) Neugebauer and Cory (Darla) Neugebauer; great niece, Emma Neugebauer and great nephew, Justin Neugebauer; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dave and Sandy Schrier; and many other extended family and friends. Tim was graduated from Chaminade High School in Dayton, Ohio in 1965, and soon joined the United States Navy, serving as a storekeeper 2nd Class E-5, including time on the Intrepid, now a museum in New York Harbor. After his military service, Tim married the love of his life, Barbara Kerns. He worked as a home remodeler most of his adult life, including owning his own company, Quality Remodeling in Cincinnati, Ohio. More recently he worked as a salesperson at Improve it Home Remodeling, who named an annual award in his honor because on his excellent skills as a sales representative. Tim loved golf (and was a course champion); his family, especially children; reading; playing cards; gardening; travel; and being Irish - a trip to Ireland was a high point in his life.
