Oakley Mary E. Oakley, 93, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on June 27, 2014, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Mary was born on October 3, 1920, to Wilbur and Maude Mosier in West Union, Ohio. She married Bernard H. "Bun" Oakley on December 13, 1941, and they were married for 58 years before his death in 2000. Mary graduated from Miami Jacobs Business School and worked for the state of Ohio for several years before retiring to raise a family. She was a loyal and active member of North Broadway United Methodist Church for over 60 years, where she often served communion. Mary loved Ohio State football and basketball, and the Cincinnati Reds. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents, as well as brother Lloyd Mosier, and sister Loueva Kendall. She is survived by her son, Robert (Ann) Oakley; daughter, Marilyn (William) Long; grandsons, Jeff (Courtney) Oakley, David (Shanna) Oakley; Kyle Grady; Kevin (Jillian) Grady; and Keith Grady; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by special friends, Chuck Weisent, Joy and Mike Scholl, Mike and Ellen Kendall, and her loving care-giver, Gifty Ampofo. A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, with the funeral immediately following at 2 p.m. at WEIR-AREND FUNERAL HOME, 4221 North High Street Columbus, OH 43214.
