Rhodes James E. Rhodes, age 85, of Reynoldsburg, passed away suddenly on July 3, 2014 at Diley Ridge Medical Center. "Jim" was born on September 1, 1928 to the late Theodore A. and Louise (Franklin) Rhodes in Chillicothe, Ohio. He served honorably in the Korean War as an M.P., and retired from White Westinghouse, and Owens Illinois. Jim was a lifetime member and an active Deacon of the Emmanuel Tabernacle Baptist Church of the Apostolic Faith in Columbus. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Victoria Rhodes; children, Frederick (Linda) Bivens, James E. Rhodes Jr., Lawrence (Bonnie) Turner, Sheryl (Carl) Smith, Alethea (Thomas) Botts, and Theodore (Dowery) Rhodes, Gary (Cathy) Lewis, William "Billy" Bozeman Jr., Kenneth (Angela) Bozeman, and Andre Bozeman; siblings, Naomi Rhodes, Elizabeth Christian, and Morris (Shirley) Rhodes; in-laws, Mary Tyler, Jimmy (Connie) Tyler, Emory Tyler; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Theodore A. and Louise Rhodes, brothers Cecil Rhodes, Charles Rhodes, sisters Ogreta Orr and M. Elsie Rhodes. A visitation will be held on THURSDAY, July 10, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at the PFEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 7915 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg. Funeral on FRIDAY, 11 a.m. at the Emmanuel Tabernacle Baptist Church, 331 N. Garfield Ave., Columbus. Bishop John J. Duff, Pastor. Friends may call one hour prior to service.
