Edith Evans Boltwood Obituary
Boltwood Edith Evans Boltwood, of Columbus, Ohio, died Saturday, July 5, 2014. Edith was born in Pageton, West Virginia, daughter of the late, Samuel and Elizabeth Evans. Also preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles P. Boltwood, sister Mabel Turner, nephews Richard Turner and Samuel Turner, and great nephew Edwin Wray. Edith graduated from the University Of Virginia School Of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse in Virginia and later as a manager in the Bureau of Hearings and Appeals with the Social Security Administration. Edith had a great faith in God and was a past member of First Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia and current member of Mountview Christian Church, Columbus, Ohio. Edith was a very optimistic and independent woman who taught her family to appreciate even the small things in life. She loved life and was a great mother. She enjoyed traveling, reading mystery novels, and attending Broadway shows. Because Edith had such a tremendous love for her family and friends, she will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Charles Boltwood and Ruth Goldberg Boltwood of Columbus, Ohio; niece, Elisabeth (Ed) Wray of Richmond, Virginia; nephew, Hugh Turner; great nieces, Beth (Barry) Wray Jones, Vickie (John) Alley, and Dee (Brian) Russell; and other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time of service. Pastor Kevin Snyder officiating. Additional service will be held at Woody Funeral Home, Richmond, Virginia and burial will be held at Westhampton Memorial Park, Richmond, Virginia, at a later date.
