Richard Eric Gunderson Obituary
Gunderson Richard Eric Gunderson, 52, of Whitehall, Ohio passed away peacefully Monday, July 7, 2014 after a long illness. Rick was born in Merced, California and from the age of six months was raised and resided in Columbus and the surrounding area. He was preceded in death by his uncle DuWayne Gunderson of Columbus, Ohio, his aunt Patricia McQueen and cousin David McQueen of Indianapolis, Indiana, both sets of grandparents, four uncles and four cousins from California. He is survived by daughters, Victoria Gunderson and Jamison (A.J.) Strickler of Columbus, Ohio; sons, Timothy R. Gunderson of Florida and Robert Russ of Newark, Ohio; grandchildren, Chloe Needham and Gavin Strickler; parents, Richard A. and Krata P. Gunderson; brother, Jason B. Gunderson; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. For most of his working life, Rick was an auto painter. Employed by several auto body shops around Columbus, Rick was considered an excellent painter. Rick was happiest when riding his purple motorcycle with his hair blowing in the wind. Many times he had been heard to say, "I'm gonna be buried on my Harley!" (not happening folks!) Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 6-7 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232. The family will be leading the service and eulogies; additional stories and comments are welcomed. Please visit www.schoedinger.com to share memories or extend condolences.
